The digital age in general (and Adobe Photo Shop in particular) allows the creation of sequential patterns at a depth unknown to photographers and visual artists of previous generations. "What would my mother (a profesional photographer who died in 1980) think?" I often ask as I electronically pry open like an oyster a perfectly good photo to see what's inside. She was a black-and-white photographer who tried to talk people out of color photos of their babies because they were inauthentic (colored photos in her day were made by someone with a hand-held brush, and she - herself a splendid water colorist - thought them counterfeit).
